2nd Ancient Theater of Larissa
The Grandfathers is about six young people who are conscripted into the army. Guided by their stern commander, the conscripts train for war, they go to a foreign country, and they die. However, the story is told backwards, starting with the moment of their death and ending with their first day of training. The first scene shows a dying soldier, Kol, talking to her comrades about jokes and references we the audience do not understand. Every scene after this shows a key moment in the conscripts’ lives which shaped their friendships, rivalries, and set them on this path towards their final moment. This funny and emotional story contains swearing, replica firearms, and references to violence and death.
